Storia di un burattino è un romanzo scritto da Carlo Collodi (pseudonimo dello scrittore Carlo Lorenzini) a Firenze nel 1881 Si tratta di un classico della cosiddetta letteratura per ragazzi, benché (More) grazie al giudizio favorevole di Benedetto Croce, che ne scrisse nel 1903, sia rientrato a pieno titolo nella letteratura. Il romanzo ha come protagonista un notissimo personaggio di finzione, appunto Pinocchio, che l’autore chiama impropriamente burattino, pur essendo morfologicamente più simile a una marionetta (corpo di legno, presenza di articolazioni) al centro di celeberrime avventure.
